On The Way collects location data to enable trip tracking and safety monitoring even when the app is closed or not in use.
Student Information: Name, class, roll number, and designated bus stop/route details provided by the school or parent.
Parent/Guardian Contact Details: Name, phone number, and email address for notifications and emergency contact.
Device Information: Device model, operating system, and IP address to ensure app functionality and security.

2. How We Use Your Information

Real-Time Tracking: To display the live location of the school bus to authorized parents and school administrators.
Notifications: To send alerts regarding bus arrival, delays, student boarding/de-boarding, and reaching the destination.
Safety & Security: To verify authorized access to student data and prevent unauthorized use.
Service Improvement: To analyze route efficiency and app performance.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We strictly limit how your data is shared:

With Schools: Schools have access to attendance logs, route history, and student tracking data for administrative and safety purposes.
With Parents: Parents can only view the location and status of the bus assigned to their own child.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of a student.
No Ad Selling: We do not sell personal data or location history to third-party advertisers.

We use industry-standard encryption and secure servers to protect your data. Access to location data is restricted to authorized users (verified parents and school staff) only. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Children's Privacy

"On The Way" is intended for use by schools and parents to track students. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without school or parental consent. Student data is uploaded/managed by the educational institution or guardians.
